18:10 is hooting
18:12 he flew away
18:13 female is calling
18:14 and zoomed out
he or she is in the nest box- male is in the box. Female is calling nearby
18:20 he is still in the box, she is calling.
camera zoomed the whole area. She is hidden
18:20 he flew away
18:22 both are still talking
18:24 silent...there were interruptions in the sound due to the panning of the camera. No idea if they have mated
18:26 many break now in the stream

Male and female are talking. Male with his beautiful amber eyes comes to the nest.


After his departure he was hooting for a long time. Then the camera starts buffering

5:59 Male is hooting, comes to the nest, went into the box
6:00 he flew away

6:30 female visit the nest. she is digging in the nest quite a while.

The Eagle owl nest camera is situated in Northern Estonia. We’re following this nest with a camera for the first time. In 2021, this pair had no chicks, but they had been breeding successfully for several consecutive years before that. Usually the female lays 2-3, rarely 4 white eggs, in late March - early April and the chicks hatch in late April or early May.
