I read in the Latvian Forum, that it is irrelevant whether a black stork comes back after the season to nest. It seems to be not matter, if he doesn't it.
there are not enough brood trees in Latvia. therefore this nest is occupied again next year. I hope so.

Eedi is already in Latvia and Karl is in south of Ukraine.
Raivo is the only one at his area. Is he getting older??

Zile and Ozols 2016 important events at nest

26.03. Ozols arrive at 15:47
07.04 Female arrive at 12:48 ( it was Zile)
07.04. the second Female arrive at 14:29 (the new Zile. she won the battle for the Nest) the first Zile had a dark plumage. the new Zile had a brown plumage.

11.04. the first egg was laid
13.04. the second egg was laid
15.04. the third egg was laid
17.04. the fourth egg was laid

03.05. the strange Female (Zile) attacked the nest. It was a serious struggle. Zile returns after 10 minutes back to the nest and eggs

TY very muche . It was nice season with suspenseful moments. And you documented for us all actions on nest also with many pics and videos.

On Saturday I was at the nest. There is an information panel. One can read, that the cute Storklet is flown away
