Yes, Bibibu, they raise their feathers when they are angry (or scared). It makes them look bigger and more powerful.

They try to impress the ‘enemy’ that way and scare him off. By their posture and ‘volume’. They try to avoid a fight or an attack by discouraging the intruder. ‘Look how big and strong I am!’

But there seems to be someone around, she spreads and lowers her tail feather and sings in between.

Now she stands relaxed.

This stork did not fly away from the nest, but towards the nest.
I think it is 2 strange storks.

Yes, probably (or possibly?) there are 2 intruders.
Usually it’s a single male that harasses a nest, one of the many male bachelors that didn’t find a mate. It’s a well-known situation and behaviour (and a problem).
I can hardly imagine that there are 2 male bachelors here, together?
But why would a couple of BS, a male and a female, decide to disturb another nest?
It’s anyway too late in the season to try to conquer a nest and start breeding.
Their reproductive hormones should normally be quiet already.

It looks like Kaia is spending the night in the nest.
