 That went very quickly, or that was really 2 black storks. Kaia then looked in 2 different directions.

Thank you @Biker

Many thanks @Anne 7 :2thumbsup:

Good night!

Good evening! Thank you all (Swenja, Anne7, Liz01, Tatiana60, Biker, sova, Trine, Bibibu) for a very great "nest chronicle", videos, comments, photos, everything!
:2thumbsup:
It's so good to read later when you've been away. And a lot has happened!

When Kaia stood on the edge of the nest and didn't look at the storklets, everything just seemed too calm ... (thank you, sova and Biker for reminding me that the dangers exist! And they came right away! )

Kaia does not leave the chicks in the nest alone for the night. She's a great brave mother stork!
One chick was also brave in the meantime ... if I look at his/her neck... but now there is probably no danger, everything is calm again.

Everything seems to be calm. Kaia is on guard, we can go to sleep...
I really hope that these strangers will not visit again!
Have a nice day all of us tomorrow!

Sleep well, good night!

Good morning! Oh, how many events have happened during my absence...

It is good that there is an opportunity to return the time back (like a time machine) and I look, take photos... both your notes and photos help to restore the facts. Thank you very much.

It seems to me that yesterday's guests are most likely young storks. Our Kaya attracts young males. They are looking for a couple and learning about family relationships. Do you remember how the young Karl II flew to the nest? He was watching and was not aggressive. There were no attempts to sit in the nest without a female. Probably our Karula also flew around other people's nests last year... But these are my thoughts.

Ornithologists can say more precisely whether new black storks and young pairs looking for a nest have been observed in the reserve...

Let's see if the guests will try to sit in the nest when there is no Kaya... or only Kaia attracts them, and of course we will hope for peace...

Today I expect +36 outside my window... this has not happened for more than 120 years... I really understand the heat in the nest...

Good morning, Swenja, Tatiana60 and everyone! :hi:

Thank you for being here as always early, Swenja!

Yesterday, the weather was nice, not too hot.
Today:

https://freemeteo.ee/weather/karula/hou ... ry=estonia

The maximum temperature is +28, it will be cooler later and it will rain.

Tomorrow:

https://freemeteo.ee/weather/karula/hou ... ry=estonia

The chicks are calmly waiting for their parents in the nest. This hazy pillar is still visible...
I also hope that yesterday's visitors were just curious young storks.

Hello @Heloise
Many thanks for timeline, weather report und beautiful pictures!

Kaia hasn't been to the nest to feed today. She had a busy night shift and will now need time.

Hello @Tatiana60
nice to read you!

Today it is pleasantly quiet at the nest.
