I keep hearing a bird calling close to the cam and thought it was UN but maybe that's Iiris then.

Thanks

11:29 Ivo brings a fresh, alive fish.

UM back on the nest to claim the fish.
Fish almost jumped of the nest.
UM starts eating

UN started for her maiden flight, turned two laps around the nest, and then landed "elegantly" on the nest again. That's how I saw it. You can see it in both videos, from aita and from Expert...

I'm a little late to the party, so thanks Mogga and everyone for the videos. I was smiling ear to ear watching her. It makes me happy to know our three "babies" will be one step closer to making it to adulthood.

Hooray - the charming shy UN made it today
And what beautiful flights she showed us, as wonderful as her landing back on nest
Now all of our 3 young ospret teens have entered the next development cycle. Congratulations also to Ivo and Iiris, who - with Iiris as a new couple- have successfully brought them so far
Many thanks for the reports and pics to everyone and and extra thanks to aita and ExpertofNothing for the videos
still pics of UN's first landing:

Lonly UN doing some balance- and wing-excercises at the edge of the nest ...
She remembers me at Kaya last year who also sat long times at the edge of the nest, scanning the surrounding, holding on the branches, even when she was jumping and helicoptering but didn't dare to fly. Sometimes it seemed that she wanted to learn flying by falling down off the nest, so near to the edga sat she ...
I'm going to watch back on YT-rewind, it is very interesting.
On your 2nd pic it looks as if she did a PS, like UM and UP did before their maiden flight.
What struck me: she was wiggling her head back and forth, just like owlets do to gauge the distances, a while before their first flight.
Does anyone know if that's the case also with osprets ? Please

Or is that just a coincidence? I had noticed it once also at UM or UP (just don't remember now at whom).
