a Finnish proverb says: "one swallow does not mean it is summer". i don't believe that the thin line in one picture frame means a crack on the egg. i think it was a straw in front of the egg.
but of course one swallow is always the first in every summer.
... or maybe in this case that was the first very small swallow! after the change Milda rolled the eggs and there seemed to be a spot which seemed to be rolling with the eggs!
i made a slow-motion close-up clip of this.
the parents were so restless today that i'm convinced that they heard something although we didn't because of the wind. we may get a pleasant surprise tomorrow morning.

22:42 Milda banged her wings and made some warning calls. this time there was enough light to see something. a shadow of a bird flashed in the top right corner! the nocturnal visitor must be an owl.
probably it's a tawny owl. there are so many of them in this forest. a pygmy owl would be too small. it's like a little bird, same size as a bullfinch, only a little bigger than a great tit. an eagle owl would make the whole upper corner black.
