JULY 25.

July 24. the young wte was seen in the old nest some 70 meters away from the where it was raised.
Ole Friis Larsen writes about the episode:
---
The eaglet has taken over the old nest
Written by Ole Friis Larsen on 24 July 2024 at 18.16
Right now, at 18:12 24.07.2024, you can see the baby eagle in the old nest with the camera. This shows both that she has flown from the nest where she was born, and that she already flies well enough to be able to get into the old nest 70 meters away from the new nest in the area.

Kim Skelmose has set the camera to record from the old nest.

It appears that the baby eaglet is being fed on the old nest by the parent birds.

It is normal for the parent birds to feed fledged chicks for a while, while the chicks still have a lot to learn in flight before they can start hunting themselves, but it is unusual for an eagle to actually take up residence in an old eagle nest.

And the same boring picture which has to be seen most of this summer

Happy new year.

Camera started on 15. of January

There are now cameras on both nests.

Same eagles as in 2024 are using nest 2 again this year.

Female is ringed and from Sweden. Male looks like the same too.

They have been visiting the nest shortly every morning and evening the last month.
Bringing sticks and straw.
Working.

Nice to read you both!
A good season for the Eagles and I'm looking forward to seeing life come back here. :innocent:
We were in Rømø/Denmark 2 weeks ago and saw a WTE almost every day flying over the heath and actually flying low through the holiday home area. (For the first time so often. Last year in November once)
It is impressive to see these birds so close.

Mating today on the nest.
Lots of song and warning calls during daytime.
It seems that this couple does not sing reguarly in the morning and evening.

Female is taking night rest on the nest for the first time this year.
