Good morning :hi:

Sorry, it took some time to translate (the text after each pic):

Looduskalender home page
What is happening on the black stork nest and in its neighbourhood?
https://www.looduskalender.ee/n/node/5920

The male stork Jan brought breakfast to the storklets shortly after eight o'clock, but one nestling was left without food.

On a very windy day, the male stork came to feed the storklets at 14.40 and 16.13

As you can see, the feeding lasts for seconds. We hope that the adult bird has found the pond for feeding.

The Eagle Club men dug a small pond with higher edges along the brookside where live fish could be put.
The shot of the trail cam was sent by Urmas Sellis

The decoy for herons on the mudwall must indicate that the place is safe for the black stork.
Fish have been released into the pond so that the adult bird could take them to the nestlings.

At seven o'clock (?) in the evening, some bird of prey, who could not be identified for having dashed by, tried to surprise the storklets.

It was decided in the Eagle Club to take live food to the nestlings before night.

Anyone who is interested can find the overview in the Looduaklender Forum thread

2. I don't know why, but the chicks don't seem to realize that the pile of fish on the nest floor is food. I saw the chicks almost playing around with the smaller size fish. If the food comes from the parent's throat, they'd be flapping the wings, and fighting over the food.
Black storks are no pets.. :D They are not used to being fed by humans

(i like it much to watch them hopping).

13:38:41 chirping started

Jan in at 13:39:03
- feeding: nice pile of very good sized fishes (the second regurgitation without succes)
Jan out at 13:39:30
