News about Olga!
She had a lengthy surgery on Wednesday - late in the afternoon, and today she feels awake and alive, and quite human again. She wants to say "Hello" to her friends on the Squirrel topic. Also, we heard that the squirrels on the Hill are doing well, too!
Olga will be in hospital for all of next week, too.

There were some nurses from Estonia, and it was hard not to talk too much about looduskalender, of Black storks having begun their route to home from Middle-East and Africa and of Linda and Sulev beginning their breeding time - I mentioned them, I could not help it, when the nurses were discussing about the weather in Estonia in the earlier night, my operation ('torture!') night, that there had been - 25 C somewhere in her homeland!
Today at 18:50 we saw a raccoon from the kitchen window. Even the first photo does not reveal how dark it was, camera settings helped to get these kind of pics, and with help of picasa the raccoon can be recognized better.

I have been now at home about 24 hours! I begun to walk etc on my own
so quickly that docs allowed me to leave hospital this soon, on Monday!
There is rush in the hospital continuously and my bed was empty for five minutes.
some more photos follow..

Now I had to log on once again, although I had already said good night!
Welcome back, Olga, it is nice to read that you are doing fine and you even got our greetings at the hospital! I'm sure all the black storks and eagles coming have helped to recover fast!
Raccoon dog!
Wow! It looks like he is interested in the squirrel food!
Have a good recovery and don't overdo! Good night!

It's almost prohibited for me to sit on a chair or to sit at all,
during the next three months never more than ten minutes at time.
Yeah, I can feel it why is that..I have tens of every kind of papers
to read advises, telephone numbers, operation stories, research
results, checking appointments etc,... you know. At last I can eat
something - I could not eat normal about for six days.
Who has promised that life is easy?
No-one. That's it.
I have been told the my back bones recover in 6 months, and in 12 months they will so good that I can forget the nasty operation..
I am not allowed to drive car!

But every now and then I may appear here to tell if squirrels have been seen.

Huge welcome to you Olga. Wonderful that you can get here, even if for only a few minutes at a time
But - can't drive the car? That is cruel

OLga..welcome home
I do know you have too take it easy now (our son had an operation on his back,was not allowed even to sit in a car,he had to wait a good while to take the plane home. He wasn't happy.
) I know you are more patient and you are home now.
I am so happy the surgery is finished. Welcome spring now.
(Why did you have to suffer ? Did they not give you lots of pain medicines ?
)
Best best wishes Olga.
Some music for you;

macdoum, I had read the spine lumbar surgery descriptions beforehand, and
curious as we are, how not-wise it is, googled lumbar spine operation pictures. They are not for plain people, I guess. Of course I was told the main things face to face.
Operation begun in late afternoon and I was waked up about 22 in the night.. I was a bit confused perhaps a bit horrified too, but at first I wanted to know if my hubby has phoned and told that our younger dog has not gone through the fence.. I can't remember everything anymore. That's good! I was full of every kind tubes and lines, like a an odd pincushion.! Huh..I was very happy that the worst was over in the afternoon after the awakening day - So, I wanted stand up and walk! It was accepted. There were still some painful nights, but then: it was over!
The video with the very special wooden music is amazing!
