Good morning to Karula Forest!
A bit of old news, loans picked up from Looduskalenders own pages:
2016. 5th. April, 2016 two adult black storks arrived at the nest.
Very frequent mating activity was seen from the first moment.
2016. 09.04.2016 the names Karl and Kati have been chosen for the two adult black storks.
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=837
2017. Karl flew 15 days between Syria and Estonia. (from 20.03 until 04.04)
2018. Karl was on the road for 14 days to fly this traject. (from 25.03 until 08.04)

I forgot to post this before leaving work on Friday. Luckily the machine did not reboot over the weekend.
Kati doing some storkobics Friday afternoon (5.4. 16:23). Gotta keep fit!

Here are some random pics
12:58 Male comes in with moss, leaves and a twig. "Oops, sorry, Kati."
13:07 Male brings more moss. Roots and soil are also hanging on it.
Kati watches it. A little doubtful?
13:10 The male is testing the nest bowl.
"Do you think the nest is soft enough for the eggs, Kati?"

Women are always a bit unsatisfied with what their mates are doing though their intentions are the best!

15:59:59 The male flies in
15:20 He calls
Then, the camera stuttered again. I constantly get the message:
live stream offline
16:18 Nestwork. He spreads the moss neatly.
In
2016, Kati arrived on 05.04, and the first egg was laid on 12.04 (
7 days after the first mating)
In
2017, Kati arrived on 09.04, and the first egg was laid on 17.04 (
8 days after the first mating)
In
2018, Kati arrived on 08.04, and the first egg was laid on 16.04 (
8 days after the first mating)
This year, Kati arrived on the nest on 04.04
Possibly, the first egg will be laid around 11.04 —12.04
If this couple mated before Kati landed on the nest (outside the nest), it might even happen earlier.

Thank you very much
all for the wonderful pictures and the reports!
This guy is amazing, - he brings the most complicated branches I've ever seen. And such huge amounts of moss!
This will be an excellent nest for the future storklets.

According temperature measured by Karls transmitter there was cold weather since crossing Sinai and Karl made several stops in 28th of March as well as in last location moved few hundreds of meters in half hour.
But still nothing new through transmitter.
