One was forewarned, it was in the back of one's mind that it was quite possible.

What is difficult for me is that ospreys do not really give me the impression that they should be powerless against a goshawk.
And yet it often is so. They have a huge respect for the hawk, more than it might seem necessary.
But that is the way it is, they often don't dare to force him to flee.

What a sad day

With experiences of last year it was to expect, but there is always hope that things would change

Brain tells me, that Goshawklets are well fed today, but that makes feelings about the loss of even two osprets on one day not much easier

And it might even happen that the worst-case-scenario is still ahead of us .... the loss of the third ospret ....

I suppose that many of us will not sleep very well tonight ....

This is horrible. Between this, the Bald Eagle taking 3 chicks all at once and everything else I am so scared for Lucky at Dunrovin. Something scares the parents every day and they take off to fight it off and the calls the mother gives tells me it's not another Osprey.
