Or she's sitting within sight of the nest. She occasionally flies into a nearby tree.

The siblings had a brief, small argument. Again, it was initiated by the older chick. It wasn't very serious. It pecked at its head, and the younger one fled a bit. However, it came back and snuggled up again.






The chicks greet their mother enthusiastically. But she hasn't brought any food.

04:21 First morning round for Mona.
A chick trills... it sounds really cute.


'48 Mona brings food. She jumps into the nest from the front.

6:44 Mona begins to call.
'56 She leaves the nest and returns at 7:20 with a fir branch.




Mona returns to nest work, including digging the earth.

08:10 Mona observes an animal. She flies out quickly...


09:08 She returns with a tender young branch from a deciduous tree and soon leaves the nest again into a nearby clump of trees.

Mona is absent for a while again.
The chicks wander through the nest, seeking shady spots and her proximity.

10:41 Mona returns from the lower area. She stands for a while, observing her children.


10:44 Leaves the nest in the trees and immediately returns with a pine branch.




Mona begins digging out the nest bowl again.

10:54 It seems a crow is getting too close to the nest.
Mona rushes down, the crow's frantic hooting can be heard.

The siblings are patient and peaceful. But they beg quietly.

14:00 Miks appears in the nest, carrying a squirrel he's killed in his claws.
He puts it down but stays on it for a few seconds, looking around.
Miks has had a good meal. He looks well-fed.


Then he leaves the nest, leaving the squirrel behind.

The older chick claims it for itself. It stands on top and asserts itself in a dominant manner.

The smaller one dares to go anyway, even managing to move the squirrel a little.




But they can't do anything with the animal.
Rivalry breaks out again between the siblings.

14:22 Miks brings another piece of food.


Even before he's left the nest, the first chick is already attached to it.

This food is more accessible. It's easier for the chicks to get a bite. They quickly notice this and become even more energetic in their fight for the food.

They kick, push, peck...

14:33 A goshawk approaches from the right and flies past the nest into the crown of the neighboring tree on the left.




Stays for a few moments and then leaves the tree, heading back into the forest, where Mona usually flies.

15:31 Mona's return puts an end to the unrest in the nest.


And as if there weren't enough corpses in the nest at the moment, the female brings a third carcass for food.
The chicks are eager to eat.
