I saw the raven do it also yesterday: he parked underneath of the nest and tried to climb over the construction - but was chased away. He is a tricky one! There is something humorous in the ravens' way of "playing", they act like clowns.

They have apparently come to stay disturbing our chicks - and have they specialized on Snaps particularly?

17:02
It rains. Snurre on the nest eating, another chick on the cam stand calling ...

I checked as long as to 15:54 (15:53 the nest was empty) when perhaps the delivery had taken place. I guess it was also Snaps on the nest on the time of delivery a couple of minutes, but took off respecting Snurre getting the prey. Pontu has no picture of the deliverer ... :

17:16
Snaps (I think) jumps down from the cam stand and both are yelling a lot - fish coming? Yes, Snaps gets the smaller and fresher silver fish with head on - I couldn't distinguish which of the parents delivered.

No records of Snips today??? Can he have migrated already? Or is it more likely that he is fed on a branch somewhere outside the nest? Or maybe fishing himself?

18:02
Snaps finished her little fish and took off - here she is still there:

18:07
Also Snurre has a long time ago finished her fish - chirping on the nest ...

It's very rare that chicks start fishing themselves before they migrate; it hardly ever happens. Once they migrate, and there's no more mum or dad around to catch fish for them, their instinct will kick in and they start fishing themselves.

The migration window has only just opened and normally the female would go before any of the chicks migrates. Lauma has been delivering fish today, so she's still here and therefore it's also rather unlikely that Snips has departed for Africa already.
Most likely he's on a branch nearby. Older chicks get often fish directly from the parent(s) on branches and perches near the nest.

A delivery by Lauma I guess (a nice silver coloured with head on), Snurre got this one. Snaps, too, is eating something, perhaps the one she left some time ago ... Both chicks chirping for their preys ...

Snaps found rests of an old fish and is eating it.
19:07 Snaps flew off.

Thanks, Kukelke. I wish we will see Snips around again before migration.

Around 19:30
Snurre got enough and left the fine fish not even half eaten - we'll see if the cleaning company comes before a next ospret to take care of the fine prey ...

19:33
Snurre or Snaps on the cam stand calling ... I think I hear both of them very near ...

19:52
Snaps arrived before the cleaning company to take care of the excellent fish left uneaten by Snurre

So much so fine fish - Snips, come home and help with eating all of this treasure!

BTW is it a fish or only fish skin that is hanging up on a stick on the north edge of the nest? - I checked backwards until 24th July and the light thing straight up on a stick on the back edge seems to have been there all the time (I didn't check later) - what ever it is ...

The two uneaten fish lie on the nest floor.

21:42
No-one has come to claim the two fine fish ...
