I have news of the Big Bear nest. I am no longer going to record or post videos from that nest. I was verbally attacked, told I had no idea what I was doing and in the final attack, told I was stealing Big Bear content and that my videos have been reported and so have I.

I immediately shut off all commenting and went to the Big Bear Facebook page and talked to several moderators and/or admins, there. They told me that was all a lie from those awful people and I had the right to record like everyone else. But I just can't sit here day after day being attacked like that. I'm too old to fight that kind of abuse anymore. I'm sorry.

Oh, Chimega, I'm so sorry about what you experienced there.
It's really sad how harsh language and behaviour has been taking over in various places lately (not just in live cam chats) – and completely unjustified, too.

I can fully understand your decision, as sad as it is, because I really enjoyed your videos, but no one should have to put themselves through that.
Stay the way you are, you're worth it. Take care

It's disgusting when a person is accused without reason, just for the sake of attacking. I myself have been in such a situation more than once and I can imagine what you feel :banghead:

I have over 7,200 subscribers and 4.2K videos, many of which are personal. The thought of losing it all in a heartbeat because of maliciousness was too much so I shut it off and deleted all the comments.

I will do the Ospreys and maybe some Owls depending on what's going on. There are other Eagle nests but that one interested me more than the others and I even have a gamer boss who is watching that nest along with his son. It was nice to be able to talk to someone like him about these raptors and our common interest. <sigh>

Chimega, I'm sorry for you!

I've given up too. I've permission to make videos from this camera for years.

But apparently some YouTubers don't want that. I'm friends with Cali Condor. Today I wrote to her that I won't be making any more videos from this camera. These YouTubers are really getting on my nerves. Some of them are so mean and abusive, I can't stand it.

I'll avoid American cameras in the future. I'll still umake videos from Decorah North. But one insult, and this camera, too, will be a thing of the past. My channel is an archive, nothing more, nothing less. I won't let a few mean YouTubers make my life difficult. American cameras aren't documentation for me. That was only to the delight of a huge part of my YouTubers.

That is the same from me. I only do it for fun and for my subscribers. I am not monetized on any videos. The one person who was the worst is named MontanaGirl. Believe me, the Osprey cams that I have recorded from the USA are very polite other than when the Great-horned Owls were killing chicks in the Hog Island nests. But there were a couple of people who seemed to be going off on Audubon in the comments and not really on me. However, I think they thought I was an employee of Audubon. Not sure but just blocked them after a while. Those were all men. I won't stop recording Ospreys from anywhere but I am awfully busy with my new kitten. :D Might not be around quite as much but Hellgate and Dunrovin for sure.

Oh Liz!! You can post your videos and click on the box that says to withhold comments or don't allow comments. You can avoid those people that way.

Chimega, :hi: :D thank you for reply.

News for me:
To prevent advertising, I have to become a YouTube partner. This is a prerequisite for continuing to make Big Bear videos. I thought as a YouTube partner, you were forced to earn money. But this monetization and advertising can be turned off. That's what Cali wrote to me. I'll see what happens. The application has been submitted.

I don't want to deactivate the comment function. I've already blocked many words, so not much gets through anymore. But there are some nasty comments I didn't know about.

That's over now. Usually, everyone freaks out when something unpleasant happens at the nest. In this case, the death of one of the eaglets. They then blame everyone who takes videos, or even the camera operator. I've seen that before with black stork nests. Nobody wants to see dramatic things, but everyone watches them.

New kittens are a lot of fun, but it's a hassle to pluck them from curtains or wherever they're hanging.

Two chicks have hatched, two more to go.
Wow, I've never seen four eggs in an eagle's nest before.
