Now something different - What's going on else?
Sorry to "disturb" you!

What a disgrace for the future of our globe
Yesterday the UN Climate Change Conference in Poland, known as COP 19, ended – without any helpful nor hopeful decisions.
Shame on all the participating governments – the most NGO's, like Greenpeace or Friends of the Earth (dt. BUND), left the meeting in the 2nd week to express their protest against the undecided attitude.

I am stunned about another failure after the last years. What an effort to prepare everything to let it take place – for what?
It again shows that policy/politicians can't manage to find a way for 1 world in which we can live in more hopefully, according to the climate. For instance, instead of a decreasing CO2 emission the Methane emission now has drastically increased. That's what I kept in mind…
But what about the general development of greenhouse gas emissions?
Wikipedia pro or con – here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_co ... per_capita
And here a graphical excerpt from WP to what the Kyoto Protocol in 1990 said about targets, and results in 2009: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Kyoto ... d_2009.png
Have a look at Canada and Estonia, as 2 examples…

Who can live calmly after that meeting, knowing there is no political consensus to join together for the future of all our children? Me not. I feel more and more bad and the time is near to react. But I forgot…living in such a country like Germany means no tradition to walk on the street. It's a car country.
Remember – it's the say now since more than 20 years, 1992 in Rio de Janeiro, that we have to get the development turned.

I am aware that this can be understood as a political statement. But in connection with the attitude of LK it is a statement of a worried nature lover and ecologist.

This is such sad news from UK

A wolf that was on the run after escaping from its enclosure at an Essex zoo has been shot dead.

Danger to the public. Really?
I was about to put this on the Wolf topic, but it is not about Estonian wolves.

 What a terrible story, why they decide to shoot to kill the wolf instead of a general anesthetic arrow or something like that?

Wil, I wish they had done that. I don't know why they chose to kill it.

Jo,its such a drastic solution. Surely they have a vet who could have anaethesised them. Sounds like everyone just panicked. :slap:
In one statement keeper says 'Very shy animals' & next she's saying how dangerous they are.
Surely if food was offred they would have come back ?

I just read the article about the wolf. "Sarah Forsyth, of the zoo, said the "dangerous wild animals" would have posed a risk to the public and had to be destroyed. " I think this woman should not work in a zoo, the way she is talking about animals.
