He sings repeatedly and observes.






Kergu is trying more intensely today to attract a female to his nest.
I'm not sure if there's even a female in the neighbourhood, but Kergu is singing really beautifully today.

Was anyone there?

He takes up the chase. Someone was there.



13:53:30 He lands at the top of the tree and sings.

14:41/42 Kergu is back in the nest and sings again.

The microphone makes terrible scratching noises.

His red colour shines particularly beautifully in the sun.

April 10

Kergu continued to build his nest this morning.
The edge of the nest looks very nice again.

He also formed a nice nest hollow.





There are only short chants this morning. No females or conspecifics in sight.

10:18 Kergu has probably spotted someone. He sings and flies higher into the tree.

11:14 Kergu returns to the nest.



He observes and sings.





11:19 He flies away.

15:55 Kergu is back and sings a short song.
A quiet afternoon and Kergu spends the time preening and resting.

18:18 He flies away again.

19:48 Kergu is here, but no singing.

April 11

Kergu continues to work on his nest.
Today Kergu also brought some wet grass.



If a female comes along, the nest should make a good impression.







Is there a female nearby?

09:21 Kergu is watching someone.
It looks like a black stork is flying past the nest.





Kergu sings and turns in circles.

09:57 Kergu flies high into the tree. He sings up there.



10:10 Kergu is back in the nest.
He observes the nest surroundings and sings again and again.



Suddenly something is different. There seems to be a danger that Kergu sees in the sky.
His feathers are suddenly close together and he is watching someone flying above him.

He sings again and shows off his beautiful white underfeathers.



11:36 Kergu flies up into the tree.
11:45 back in the nest and singing. Someone is there.
Kergu is trying hard.



11:46 It seems like someone is flying away. Kergu flies after him.



13:49 Kergu is back and short song.

15:04 He flies high into the tree.



18:52 Kergu is here. Short singing.

April 12

Kergu brought lots of lovely twigs to the nest this morning. He took great care of the edge of the nest today.





He also brought soft cushions made of moss.

There is not much singing from Kergu today. I don't think there is a female around.



09:58 Kergu flies high into the tree. He keeps singing up there.

10:35 Kergu is back in the nest and sings passionately.



There doesn't seem to be anyone around.

But the tension is now rising. Please let it be a female with serious intentions!
