Looking at these enlarged cuts from the pics - yes, it is possible that Mati injured LF at this attack, we know they have razor blade sharp talons ....

Yes, could be a "fresh" small wound.

Thank you, Bea, it was a serious attack and directly to this place on LF's chest, where later are visible bloody spots

Such a fierce attack to get rid of her --- strange, isn´t it? :puzzled:

Yes, and usually the male bird does not attack the female :puzzled:

:hi: Thank You, Bea! What happened to Mati? It's weird. The more he communicated well with LF. :dunno:

:hi: The male is loyal to the female during breeding time. Perhaps he really guards the nest.

Good morning Bea,
thanks for the spectacular pictures and the video. I think Mati was really frustrated when he kicked LF. All his approach attempts to win her as a partner failed. I have visited the nest every day, but it was always empty.
Wish you a nice weekend

Thanks - and a nice weekend for everyone here, too

Today in the morning at 06:11 Mati delivered a Trout for LF - she took it and flew away with the fish

LF returned with a small leftover piece of the Trout and finished it on the nest --- no aggression, no attacks ..... everything "back to normal?"

Small spot of blood is still visible on LF´s chest. But it seems she didn´t take yesterdays´ attack very serious .... she is still there today - as well as Mati :puzzled:

Good to know, that both are still around. I'm glad that Mati still delivers fish to LF and she not chases away. :2thumbsup:
