Alice, I also think that these vultures are really very nice.

Until recently, I thought about those birds with mixed feelings, as the birds, which are the harbingers of death. But after thinking changed my mind, I'm sure that their role in the environment is very useful and much needed.

:peek: The first of March is not too far. Last year the nesting time was beginning at that time. We will soon see which ones will have their nest there in Portas de Rodao this season, Griffon Vultures or Black storks, well, or perhaps both of them!

Last year the BS arrived on the 22nd February. But last year there were 4 BS "fighting" for that nest :whistling:
And there are some griffon vultures interested in that nest either, but it's getting late now for them to lay the egg...
So, let's wait :2thumbsup:

We are not sure what it was :puzzled:
I asked the bird specialist because it is too far to know exactly if it was a BS or a cormoran

The same bird siluette is seen right now in the same place but a bit vague. So... the cam is changing the view soon?

I wish we can get a video of the landing of her/him ( I have a premonition that it is the same female as last year - but, I have been wrong many times!). It is so beautiful! :shake:

Hi Olga, or should I say Renandeli? It's strange to "talk" to the same person but with a different name :puzzled:

It can be the same female from last year, but it can be also one of the "visitors" from last year. If you check on the 12th April posts, it is possible to see that the intruder, has also a "blond" head and no ring, like the mother BS and this one.

I read in Kotkas club site :book: that it is usually the male who arrives first and starts preparing the nest. So, maybe the male is late or it is another male who is there. We will have to wait
:gathering:
