i agree: a 2nd winter eaglet. the ankles looked rather thin and the beak was not very big so i think it was a male.
nice crop. (i didn't hear any gunshots yesterday so i think he has eaten fish...)
he pulled and fluffed the hay on the nest.
14:53 he jumped to the top branch. that made enough noise so that i heard that there was something extra. the wind was too loud. i only heard the eagle leaving. (i was sitting next to the pc but not watching the screen. i was knitting. )
then the eaglet took off and flew over the meadow to the right, then a loop back high in the sky and flew by on the right side.

Jānis has said that he has plans to change the sensor (the camera unit i think) but i don't know when. he said that last year, too, but he didn't. i hope he will this year. the lens is dirty.

the eagle sat there and watched the day dawning. the tail was white. (it was not the young eagle who visited yesterday)

Liz, you forgot one thing: the weather is fine today. on the previous days it hasn't been eagle weather at all.

... oh but you did say that: an eagle day, meaning that it's clear! my eyes were still half-sleeping (no coffee).
it was both eagle and pygmy owl weather.

9:13 a nuthatch is talking near the microphone. she didn't show herself.
