Apparently, it’s too early for us to calm down.

M2 is full of fish and full of strength.

M1 brought fish for Iiris (the forehead is wet, but M1 has a spot under the right wing, M2 has everything white there.)

Iiris has flown off to breakfast, M1 is incubating the eggs, but all this time he is in a state of anxiety.
M2 is not visible, but he is in the nest area and is disturbing M1.

Thank you so much for reporting, it is fascinating to follow this thread thanks to your observant eye! In spite of the drama and a possible negative outcome. It is nature and we can learn of all of it and your contribution is very much appreciated!

Greetings
I try to record everything that happens. In all the previous years of observation, I see this for the first time.
When Irma fought for the nest, it ended quickly, the females had more aggressive battles, I remember those videos where they made physical contact.

Iiris, thanks to Ivo, did not have to fight for the nest.

And Ivo (our sweet, handsome, strong Ivo ♥) did not allow strangers.

Now both males are new. I have been monitoring the nest since April 29th and this is truly a new experience for us. And it’s not easy for Iiris, we’ll keep watching.

I would like there to be more observer posts here, as there were in the early years. :gathering:

Hi everyone, long time no see.

I'm happy to see an Estonian osprey nest camera back up, and I've been observing for a bit each day ever since it came online.

Here's to a productive Osprey season!

One gets in love with all the stars in the nest. My very first love was Ilmar & Irma, I loved Joosep with three caught fishes on one delivery and Ivo became a very dear friend and we still have Iiris to follow - and ALL the chicks not to mention! This nest has given so much along the years. I thank Kotkaklubi that we still can follow this life. And of course I hope that the outcome will be successful - how ever it will turn out to be.

A calm moment with Iiris incubating

Iris incubates the eggs, the males are not seen or heard.
Only to the left a crow (not sure) flew over the forest.

You simply do it perfect on your own. There's nothing to improve or add. 8-)

Oh, thank you for your kind words, I'm being spoiled here today.
But when there are several of us, updates arrive on time, and when I am alone, then with long pauses, because there are things to do.
Remember how we posted 5-6 posts about one fish at a time? It was fun))

I wonder how many hours an osprey egg can survive without incubation, if it is not very cold?

Iiris is on the nest all the time, flying out for a minute and returning immediately. We can hear crows cawing, they are disturbing Iiris.
The males did not arrive.

I think it is doubtful whether a chick can hatch from the second egg.
The egg was not incubated for about 18-23 hours. Depending on when it rolled back into the nest bowl.

The previous eggs were laid around 20 April (+/- 6 days). The egg has therefore been in the nest for about 2 weeks. I don't know what stage of development it is at then.

I don't know whether it will be able to hatch. I suspect that it won't work. Or are there comparative events in the past where this worked?

When I started visiting this forum in 2016, I read that the female leaves the first egg for several hours without incubation in order to equalize the time with the second egg, so that the chicks do not have a large difference in height. There they were talking about several hours during the day, not at night. Now, of course, I won’t find it, but this information was here.

The first egg was thrown onto the edge on the morning of May 1st. And she returned at night / morning of May 3rd. Yes, the chick is unlikely to hatch.

a very large dark-colored bird flies over the nest, Iiris is very excited.

The males have not arrived since 11 o'clock, that is, already 4 hours. Which one will return?
