He/she is very close to the Latvian border.

Since Maru arrived in this area on August 12 (792 km) and now August 16 (823 km), he flew 31 km.
31 km in 4 days doesn't seem "too much moving" to me? Or am I mistaken?

not long distance, but much new and new places - I hope you are right
cca 8km/day is very good, but usually they flying to feeding place (midday - shadow) and back to night place (see e.g. Mare)

Maru is still very young, he/she has so much to learn.
I'm happy that Maru is staying here for a while, most probably there is food available in this area... if he can catch it. Each day Maru will become better at it.

No, Solo, in that case I got the impression, that Maru does find enough food ! A lot of food.
Otherwise she/he would fly on to new, farther places.
