6:35Kaupo is digging in the nest bowl and rolling the eggs more often than in the past. The eggs are still without cracks and there is no egg talk to be heard.

Like Michi, I think it's too early. It is more likely on 17-18 May. But I do not know. We will see...

Gemenc is offline. I hope the cam will back with normal view

That's a pity. Maybe they will do it someday. It would be very nice

Hello Liz, Solo and all,

I'm glad, that Gaja finally arrived today morning. I almost could not sleep and had a look to the cam in the early morning hours from bed every now and then.

Thank you very much for the reports and pictures! :2thumbsup:
Now Kaupo is already again incubating. He is really duteous. I'm curious if Gaja in the evening will relieve him.

I wrote to Maris Strazds, that I assumed that weak chicks would be thrown out of the nest. ( weak chick was in the hungarian nest and is dead now)

My email:
We have just a case in the Hungarian nest, where the third hatched chick, is likely to starve. There are four chicks.
The parents do not notice it.
I thought they throw chicks out of the nest when it's weak. But it seems that it only happens when there is not enough food.

His answer: Concerening BS – I would say they don’t. Weak juveniles may fall out but most ofter they remain dead in nest.

I just came home and found still Kaupo at nest, - though I had expected to see Gaja. It's the same like yesterday. Gaja enjoys her last free days. ;-)

20:56 Kaupo takes care for his eggs.
