Onni delivers fish to both females in the nest but flies by.
2nd arrival minutes later fish for 'NF', she grabbed it immediately and took off.

Onni decided whom to choose for mating & breeding. He defended Hilma's landing on the nest and perching on the outer bar, chased her out of his territory. Then the chief tried another mating with 'NF' but failed...

Seili: Hilma is in the nest, Onni continues to try his 'menage a trois' - mating with Hilma without fish present and again with NF - but Hilma chases him out of the nest. It will play out anyway.

There is a battle going on of the nest in Paltamo, between an Osprey (who I think is Penna) and the Peregrine Falcon couple

Here you can see a falcon approaching in the air


And here comes one of the falcons - they both attacked the osprey

Earlier on Wednesday the satellite osprey Vesku visited briefly the Paltamo nest - he spent his winter surprisingly only on Corsica:

There has been discussion on the chat and many think the original Onni in Seili did not return from the migration. And that there are two unknown silver ringed males who appear in the cam view. Hilma has also vanished after having defended the nest previously. People speculate what these facts mean.

@Pennies: As long as those user who spekulate about 'Onni-Substitutes' don't post pictures in comparison to the new Onni II or III visitors I'm convinced that the current male osprey is Old Onni from last seasons 2021-2022!

Who ever he is, the development is a little slow this year, we shall see, if there will be a couple and offspring ...
