Great!
Yes, great, let's hope for the first delicate nest visits and resilient technology.

Thanks Liz! :2thumbsup:

The stream isn't going well and doesn't let us see much.
I can't judge whether there is or will be activity but the nest seems untouched.

February 25th

Seems the announced 2nd Nest is now online.

The description of the stream still confuses me a bit.
The title is Golden Eagle 2 - Lesser Spotted Eagle
Lesser Spotted Eagle - The nest is located in a
forest managed by JSC Latvia's State Forests, in
the Kuja Nature Park, on a Lesser Spotted Eagle
monitoring plot called "Žūklis", near the village of
Aizkuja. The eagles built their nest in 2018 and
successfully breed there in 2019. In 2020 the nest
was taken by a pair of Lesser Spotted Eagles,
thowever the youngling was talken away by a
Northern Goshawk
I don't know, maybe it's a Nest of surprises - both are possible. Let's see who slips in.

Polly, sova :hi:

this is a golden eagle nest. I think the camera moved from a lesser spotted eagles nest to this place.

GT:
Although what is happening in the nest does not always agree with the positive emotions of a person, we as project implementers will not interfere in natural processes, there is no justification for such behavior and there would be no limits - when to intervene and when not.
The aim of the project is to obtain scientific and objective information about the nesting of golden eagles, whatever the success.

I like it! So we can observe how successful the nest is in this area. No intervention!

Vērotāja, thank you for all the information! :2thumbsup:

Good Morning Polly, sova and all :hi:

Ugis Bergmanis wrote in the chat:
Good morning! This is Spilve's artificial nest, which I built in 2014. Golden eagles have never nested in this nest, but the nest is thoroughly stocked. The nest is located 1.2 km from the second nest

In the second nest in 2020, the baby died when Virsis disappeared. Last year's successful nest had not been visited by eagles as late as February, while this nest was slightly strewn. That's why we installed the system here

Both live broadcasts of lesser spotted eagles - Aizkuja and Mālsala - will be saved. We will connect in test mode soon to understand if everything works and what parts need to be ordered and changed

Good morning Liz & everyone!

This information in the chat today unravels things a bit. This way it is more understandable and makes sense.
Thanks for your translation! :2thumbsup:
... while this nest was slightly strewn
That was my thought too.
Even though it looks so small. But the perspective can be misleading.

I am very excited.

Thanks to LVM for their commitment and Uģis Bergmanis for providing the information.

I follow all LV and EE cameras. Now it remains to be seen what the pair of eagles will do next. A year before Spilve laid eggs, the construction of the nest was intensively started in August of the previous year

Hello, Watchers! This is a fully grown golden eagle. It is possible that it is Spilve's friend who changes feathers - the head is mottled, dark feathers grow alternately. The head of the June male was evenly light. You can't rule out a completely foreign eagle, we'll see when Spilve is in the nest as well.
