Osprey nests in the UK

Osprey nests in the UK

We have already some topics for specific osprey nests in the UK, but as the amount of osprey nest cams in the UK seem to increase, I was asked to open a new topic for those.

I hope all you observers of these nests will keep us updated

Yes, there are so many nests in the UK under different topics I couldn't even find my own post back...
Maybe there should be one UK topic which houses all the different UK nests.

The original nest was damaged by the storm. Later, people built a new nest nearby and installed cameras. There may be live broadcasts in the future.

Breaking Brenig News 🦅🦅
HR7 is now back at Llyn Brenig.

Our staff on the ground were able to confirm that both him and Blue24 are now both safely back at Llyn Brenig and both have been on the nest today. They were not able to get any pictures but we hope to have some over the coming days, so here is one from last year.

We also wanted to reassure you all that the nest is being monitored very closely.

seira :hi: You always faster than me :D

Both on the nest, Louis with fishtail. Aila wants it.

Poor Aila was waiting so long, but Louis eats the fish complete alone...She left shortly before.

Happy Easter from The Lodge!
Thanks to an eagle eyed viewer of our live osprey web camera, we've had a sighting of what looks to be one of our local ospreys, Clarach. This picture might confirm the return of these wonderful birds to the area!

SIGNS OF A NEW FAMILY AND A VISITOR COMES TO BRENIG.

Great news, it looks very likely that BLUE24 is sitting on an egg judging by the length of time she sat constantly on the nest, it may well be more, we’re certainly hoping so!

Blue24 and HR7 had some company the other day when we checked on their progress from our Gors Maen Llwyd Nature Reserve.
A pair of Canadian Geese had decided to explore the base of the nest, not that Blue24 seemed bothered, nor did HR7 higher up on the perch.

Blue24 was again sat on the nest incubating the egg(s), like she has been on every occasion that we have checked on them over the past few weeks.
From the timings of our observations we think the eggs must be getting close to hatching and we are very excited to find out how many chicks there are this year.

We will keep you all updated as soon as we see anything.
