Image

8:47:50 I see two wild boars on the right
8:48:40 three of them are walking on the right

9:13 someone is on the ground. a deer or a wild boar?
9:14:00 it sounds like a deer .. I hear barking
9:15:30 or is it a fox?

The footsteps are under the nest. The barking is a little further away

There is an interesting play of colors on the lower edge of the nest. Caused by the camera lens? a green-orange rainbow

good morning!
thank you Liz for the reports!

i think that the little orange-green kiwi in the front is sunlight dispersed and diffracted on the coating of the lens. it makes patterns with rainbow colours.

there were slow footsteps under the nest from at least 8:18. i managed to see piggies when i played my recording in double speed.
8:38:23 a pig became visible on the right side. it's best to watch in double speed because the pig was moving very slowly.
8:43:00 the pig walked left and vanished under the nest.
8:43:56 the pig became visible again near the place where he/she disappeared.
8:44:24 another pig became visible from under the nest. they were near the small spruces on the right side of the Sisters.
8:46:55 a third pig came visible from under the nest. the first two had moved to the right.
8:48:23 a fourth pig from under the nest!
8:50 all pigs vanished in the forest.

i made close-up videos in double speed of the pigs which i found.

this is the normal speed and size video of the pig.

how can the kingfisher be coloured in some of your pictures? :puzzled:

9:03:53 a pig behind the small spruce on the right side of the Sisters, first on the left side and then on the right side.
9:05:45 another pig nearer the nest.
9:06:01 a third pig came from behind the spruce. all walked to the right. 9:06:05 a fourth pig came visible from the left side of the spruce. all walked towards the Kingfisher logo.

9:14 barking.
9:15 - 9:16 more barking. that was a strange voice. it didn't seem to fit with any animal. it was too 'clear' for a boar or a fox an too high-pitch for a deer. it sounded like a dog's bark but the calls were single barks. a dog would call bow-bow-bow many calls in a row. :puzzled:
the barking voices seemed to come from a longer distance than the footsteps like Liz wrote.

maybe a fox is the most likely of the barking candidates. :puzzled:

ooohh wow...

jays have made a lot of shrieking nearby for some time. sometimes also a fake eagle has called. there's also a great spotted woodpecker talking.

edit: later jays made more "music".

khrömmm... :whistling: actually 14:12:42 the bird landed on the top and stayed about half a minute.
that's ok, Liz. Osgood Fielding III said "nobody's perfect". that's one of my favourite phrases.
the eagle flew to the right and i wouldn't be surprised if it landed somewhere rather near.

14:07 a big bird flew over the meadow high in the sky. the wing beat was slow and heavy so this could have been an eagle.

then that at 14:09:27 a female eagle called nearby.

the eagle's visit.

i got the feeling that this was perhaps not Milda. Milda would have stayed on the top a longer time. :puzzled:

December 23

Good Morning

ame, thanks for the playlist! :2thumbsup:

I think because of the frost, the search for food will be a little more laborious. Milda and Mr. L are probably near some open body of water :shake:

good morning!

yes, the nest looks the same. i don't think that anyone has been there after the snow came. the snow has only sunk deeper between the sticks and yesterday a small twig dropped from the top when the eagle took off from the top.

9:43 - 9:58 four pigs were walking on the lake on the right side of the swan pond. i think they were a pack of sows who were feeding peacefully.
i made a close-up clip of them in double speed. the sound is rather bad, sorry about that, but on the other hand there wasn't more to hear but the wind and a few crow's calls.

here's the normal video:

9:45:12 a bird flew by the top. i think it was a raven.

9:52 a bird flew over the meadow high in the sky. i think that was probably a raven, too.
