You reminded me that in 2019, it was at this age that parents began to leave the chicks alone... Will this be your first night without your parents? They've without food for 5 hours...

Swenja, many thanks for the summary, timeline and beautiful photos!
Anne7, many thanks for photos that always make you think...
Tatiana60, yes, they seem to be alone that night... for the first time
Thank you for the photos with detailed descriptions!
Sunrise at 04:13... one of the parents will definitely be early in the nest.
The weather tomorrow:

Unfortunately, I will be away all day tomorrow, I wish you all and Karula's family a beautiful day!

Hopefully nothing else will fly to the nest.
Many thanks @Heloise, Tatiana60 and @Anne7
Maybe the server will go again tomorrow morning and we'll know if the chicks are okay.

At 22:37 (last known data), Karl II was at the brook where he has also been this morning, about 7 km from the nest.
He may have flown to the nest this evening.
It is only a 10 minute flight.
Today, Karl II has flown 153 km.
He has not been further than 16-17 km from the nest.
Edit: 00:29 the camera is online. It is too dark to see if there is a parent. I don't hear him/her either... probably the chicks are alone tonight.

Many thanks, Anne7!
The camera is back at 00:29:06.
It looks like I'm completely blind. I don't understand who's in the nest. The storklets, 1,2,3. One of them is on guard (preening?).
There are no parents (?). I don't see any parents. But I see anyway nothing but only the white chicks. It's nice that they're still white!
1,2,3
I hope that Swenja will tell us in the morning who is/was in the nest
Last attempt, go to sleep. See you tomorrow night!

19 June
02:10 you can see the white silhouette of one chick, he is sitting, the rest are asleep. No parents.
02:52 all three are awake.
03:16 the younger one went down to the very edge of the nest, almost fell, and returned closer to the older one...
cuckoos are actively cuckooing the forest, birds chirped...our chicks are asleepin.

04.04.14 well, that's it - everyone woke up. The average person stands for a long time and even does PS while standing on his feet...
all the children lie down and doze off again, it's nice to sleep in a cool place until the sun comes up.

Every morning I am surprised at the ability of the chicks to grow so fast!
They took turns cleaning themselves and then lay down again. I decided to lie down too.
The first night without my parents is over.
