Possibly Eedi will fly north today.
The weather forecast on Meteoblue for today isn't too bad. No precipitation, SW wind.
Weather report for Vinnytsia
On Wednesday it is mostly cloudy. Only few sunny spells are forecast. Temperatures peaking at 14 °C. Overnight into Wednesday blows a light breeze (7 to 12 km/h). At daytime expect a moderate breeze (20 to 29 km/h). From time to time gusts could reach up to 40 km/h. Winds blowing from Southwest. The weather forecast for Vinnytsia for Wednesday is likely to be accurate.

Hi!
Thank you very, very much, Anne!
:2thumbsup:
It is a great relief to read that our birds have moved on from dangerous areas although the Vinnytsia region in Ukraine was also very dangerous yesterday

"A barrage of Russian missiles have destroyed the airport in Vinnytsia in central Ukraine says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. "I have just been informed about a missile strike on Vinnytsia. Eight rockets... The airport was completely destroyed," he says."
https://www.facebook.com/KyivPost/video ... 9153729551

Terrible events can happen anywhere... this schizophrenic war will simply destroy everything...
:faint:
It's hard to stay calm.
Fingers crossed!

Ukrainian storks are now in the worst situation ever. They reach their nesting places and find out ruined nests, burnt fields and poisoned rivers. Hope they find another places for breeding.

Then they basically become refugees, like humans. Couples are probably separated, as they may not find each other... Terrible. Not only for storks.

Timmu

Timmu has now also reached Ukraine. He is in the far southwestern tip of the country. Probably he's quite safe overthere.

Previous data:
04.04.2022; Distance: 5004 km km (+71 km in 1 day); Timmu sent data in a forest southeast of Sighișoara, Mureș County, Transylvania in Romania
New data

Svicha River [Свіча; Sviča]. A right-bank tributary of the Dnister River that flows for 106 km through Ivano-Frankivsk oblast and Lviv oblast and drains a basin area of 1,490 sq km. The river originates in the Gorgany Mountains and initially has a mountainous character; it then develops a wider valley (5–6 km) along its lower course. It is used for water supply and irrigation.

Gorgany is a mountain range in Western Ukraine in Outer Eastern Carpathians, adjacent to Chornohora range. The highest peak of Gorgany is Syvulia (1,836 m) with the other high peaks including Ihrovyshche, Vysoka (1,804 m), Lopushna (1,772 m) and Grofa. The mountains are made of flysch rock, mostly sandstone, which create typical for Gorgany debris fields (local names: gorgan, grekhot). They are bordered by the Mizunka River and Vyshkovsky Pass in the west and the Prut River and Yablonitsky Pass in the east.

Hello Bigfan!

There is a race today between Urmas and Karl II, I think, to be the first to arrive at the nest in Karula Park. :D

As soon as the cam on Karl II's nest is online the link will surely be announced on the forum.

This is the link to the different live birdcams in Estonia (3 live streams so far)

So Eedi has crossed Ukraine... sigh of relief !
Hopefully Nurme and Timmu will survive the overflight safely too !

Which one is first... I guess Karl II and Urmas will come to the nest at about the same time...though Urmas has a habit of winning.
