08.11 (morning) Birdmap update:
Katrin - 3572 km (+14 km), stopover area, sent data near the village Yaylayurt in Turkey
Thank you, Hellem

OrniTrack, which provides more location points than birdmap, shows that Katrin flew on to the Çandarlı-Dikili dam.
(We will create a tracker map for the entire day this evening)

Deliktaş and its reservoir lake, view to the southeast. On the right one can see the wind turbines near “Pitane Rüzgar Enerji Parkı” (located east of Çandarlı) and in the far distance the wetlands and the bay where Katrin was this morning.

Thank you for the tracker map, Jo

Today, Katrin left her familiar area and flew 39.8 km.
She is currently south of Yenice, and west of Sağancı.

Yenice is a small village in Dikili district of İzmir Province, Turkey. It is situated on the western slopes of the mountainous area. The population of Yenice is 92 as of 2011.
Wikipedia

Sağancı is a populated place in the Bergama district of İzmir province.

On the way, Katrin visited both the Çandarlı-Dikili dam near Yaylayurt, and the Deliktaş reservoir.

November 9th

Thank you, Hellem.

I made Katrin's morning Tracker Map.
https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid= ... sp=sharing

Battery level: 75%

This morning, Katrin flew 15 km westward. She is currently not far from Dikili.

Dikili is a coastal town and a district of İzmir Province in the Aegean Region of Turkey. The district is quite picturesque both along its shoreline and in its inland parts, and is a popular summer resort. The central town of Dikili is situated at about 120 km (75 mi) north of İzmir, served by a good road. The notable township of Çandarlı (ancient Pitane) is located close to Dikili.
Urban population: 18669 (in 2012)
Dikili town centre is situated opposite the Greek island of Lesbos. A small islet within Dikili district (called Garip Adası locally, with ancient sources also citing the name Argounissai) made international headlines in April 2007. The islet was offered for sale by its proprietors and The Guardian reported the Greek islanders of Lesbos raising money among themselves to buy the islet.

I think it’s a stone quarry, Juta.

The rocky hills are 'dismantled' (carved) in the form of round, terraced structures.

Something like what you can see here:
Image

Katrin's track, still between the villages Işıklar and Yayakent, Kınık district, İzmir province, Turkey.
Image

Today, Katrin spent a lot of time looking for food in Yayaköy Creek, south of Yayakent.

View from the bridge over the Yayaköy Creek towards Katrin's feeding area. (See the marked area)
In the photo below, there is hardly any water visible in the riverbed. Possibly there is more water at the moment.
A little further upstream (so in the opposite direction) a small dam (reservoir) has been built.
