Update from Cilla Kinross:

NEWS 27 November 2021.
No sign of Yurruga today after two hour search. This could mean he's in hiding, but I think he has moved out of the wood below the tower as Diamond ignored me when I was there. Any new sightings will be reported here first. So no need to keep asking 'where is Yurruga?'.

The good news is that I didn’t find him on the ground, and I was looking around for two hours or so.

Update from Cilla Kinross:
NEWS 29 November 2021.
No sign of Yurruga today. I looked for him at the roost trees this afternoon after seeing a raptor (possibly Diamond) there earlier (too far for photo). I've looked every day, but he's not been seen since last Thursday when spotted on a roof. It's of concern, but he might simply be well hidden. Any new sightings will be reported here first.

Hm, I really hope Yurruga is fine, but eight days now without any sign from him? :puzzled:
The weather conditions after his fledge were very bad for an juvenile bird.

Amanda :hi: You could be right, Cilla spotted him two days after his fledge.
But I have mixed feelings about him, you also?

Wow, such an early bonding, communication between X and Di! X came 5:15, so the bonding was 15 min. long, amazing

It's really a long and nice conversation, they have a strong partnership.

1.December

Update from Cilla Kinross:
NEWS 30 November 2021.
No sign of Yurruga, I'm afraid. I've looked every day for an hour or two, but he's not been seen since last Thursday when spotted on a roof. He was seen later on the same roof by a colleague in a thunderstorm.

It's of concern, not just because by now I would expect him to be using the roost trees and 'flight training ground', but due to the behaviour of the adults, long pair-bonding sessions being rare so soon after fledging. I have a nasty feeling that we may have lost this chap, but will keep looking for another week.

I've feared it too.

Birdfriend Hello

Cilla Kinross updates:
I sent a photo of Yurruga to a well respected raptor rehabillitator and she said she thought he was under-developed for his age at fledging (45 days) and he did still have more down than expected.
But he was very good at exercising his wings and had an excellent appetite and the parents clearly thought he was ready to fledge as they tried to tempt him out.

I'm not convinced the fledge was that great as he landed on the ground near the tower, but that happens quite often, so not unusual.

Thank you, Amanda for the updates and video.

I agree, that Yurruga was still a bit to fluffy for fledge. But normal the parents should know when the time is right.
I cross my fingers for him, but I'm worry too.

Xavier again with bowl working, Di does it also often too, it looks so serious. In previous seasons i have it not observed that they do that so often and so short after fledge from offsprings.
