12:44 Hanna went in her pantry and takes the rest of crow.
The oldest rushes to her and takes it. It looks like none of the owlets need her help
12:45 She went out of pantry

Good evening all! and thank you Liz and vainamoinen!
16:45 nothing in particular happened during the last one and a half hour. The owlets were hot and crowded into the still shady corner of the nest. Now that the nest box is completely in the shade, everyone sleeps flat.
17:00 owlets are waking up.
17:22? #2 inspects the ground below the nest... he even puts his foot over the board. Then he does a wing exercise in that precarious position! It takes only a few seconds though until he has safe ground under his feet again! Phewww!
17:22? #2 inspects the ground below
17:22? Oh, dear - what are you up to?
17:22? Please, don't try, you can't fly yet!
18:03 #2 pulls out a wing left over from this morning's prey and starts picking what little meat there is. He did not forget to cast some watchful glances right and left between bites, as every prudent animal should do. But he is so much taken in by everything that moves outside that he only occasionally remembers to take a bite.
18:30 #3 has taken over the remainder of the wing. #1 is still sleeping in the background.
19:00 all owlets are now awake and, as usual in the golden evening hour, they sit and preen, or dream with open eyes of the next food delivery - hopefully a little elephant.
20:00 all owlets sit side by side in the front row looking out.
20:10 #1 inspects the nest floor, finds a half-eaten black prey and takes it to the pantry. I have seen that several times before. I wonder if that's not a sign of being a female as - vid Hugo (and scientific reports) - males never have anything to do with pantries? Nor have I ever seen #2 doing that.

“Animals, like us, are living souls. They are not things. They are not objects. Neither are they human. Yet they mourn. They love. They dance. They suffer. They know the peaks and chasms of being.” (G. Kowalski) Caveat: Apart from this remarkable sentence I do not agree with his philosophies.

21:03 two owlets have found parts of prey in the pantry and are eating.
21:32 I believe it's the same owlet as 17:22; maybe rather #1 than #2? A few seconds longer this time
21:34 Was that Hugo? A very fast visit. He brought a black corvid.
21:39 And here is Hanna! I couldn't see what she has brought (or if she has brought anything), as the stream had just come back on when she walked back from the back panel.
21:40 She seems to be feeding the owlets, but I can see only a few seconds of it between the long stream breaks!
21:47 one owlet is eating black corvid in the foreground.
21:50 all three have something to gnaw and nibble on
22:05 Three happy owlets whirling about in the nest :)
22:50 the owlets settle down for a rest
23:07 night view comes on.
Two owlets sit, one stands, two look out into the forest, one sleeps.

02:07 Hanna arrives with a large and heavy prey, a bird.
02:07 She tries to "give" it to the owlets but nobody wants to take on the task.
Hanna takes the bird into the pantry, then looks at her kids. But when #2 approaches her with his beak again, she prefers to fly off.
02:07 "Oh, she's gone..."
02:10 All three owlets have a look at the new prey but nobody shows an inclination to begin with it. They are not really hungry (I guess it still needs to be the strongest and most hungry owlet to break such a big prey open before #2 and #3 can eat from it too).
02:26 #1 starts working on the new prey.
02:33 While #1 is eating, #2 and #3 occupy themselves with wing training.
02:35 apparently, #1 has finished his meal, he cannot have been very hungry.
02:45 well, #1 is at the prey again, he had just needed a break from the heavy work at the beginning.
03:01 Change at the prey - #2 is taking over.
Good night!
