I am fearing for the smallest one every time, it is pushed away and sometimes literally 'hanging' on the rim, it looks like it could fall down every moment :faint:
I have often thought the same.

20:45
Chick 3 also grabbed some of the prey.

Nice! Youngest one could steal a piece of the prey, now shielding it with its body and wings, making sounds while tearing pieces off it.

Good morning everyone.

Chicks wake up and see someone close-by
Image

Half a minute later a parent drops a prey, one of the older chicks got it.

It's a joy to hear and see them wing-flapping. They jump about the nest while calling loudly with happy screams.

Male drops a prey (little bird).
Chick # 2 got it eventually.

Chick # 1 went "gaga"....screaming and jumping, feet off the nest floor, high jumps and wing flapping.
So great to watch!

Chick # 3 is calling for food off and on for several hours.
I hope Mom will jump on soon and feed him. As far as I could see he has not gotten much yet.

Hahaha, should have said that sooner.
Dad dropped a prey and it looks like # 3 has it.
But if he can defend it against the 2 older ones????

No, # 3 never had it, it is somewhere between the 2 older ones, difficult to see.

Won't be surprised to see Hawklet # 1 ending up on Mom's branch at the end of the day or tomorrow early morning....
Such high fly-jumps, wonderful.

At 20.02
Male Goshawk delivered again a prey, and again for one of the 2 older chicks.

Male drops a prey and at last chick # 3 has got it.
He makes this special sound to warn the others off.
Let's hope he gets the chance to eat it all.
Eating there at the right on the very edge of the nest.

20 42.
Prey seems finished, saw him swallow big chunks and clean its beak afterward on the twigs of the nest edge.
The siblings let him have it in peace  I'm sure it was because of his special screams

And a nicely swollen crop to prove it :loveshower:

2nd time chick # 3 is too quick for his siblings, he captured the prey.
Mantling over his prey at the left. (while tearing pieces off it)

Image

And eating out in the open
Image

....which was not a smart thing to do, because # 1 stole the rest from behind.
But I'm guessing # 3 did had enough anyway.
