13:16 Voldis flew out.

13:35 Milda began feeding with the small fish. she stood in front of the chicks.

13:38 voices and sounds of spanking behind Milda..
13:41 she finished feeding. then she covered the chicks.

13:49 Milda rolled the egg (the egg was not visible but the movements were right). then she dug the nest.

[ame]

14:03 Milda began to sing the fish song...
Voldis brought a piece of some mammal. the piece had a big bone on one end and on the other end was something that looked like a big paw with strong nails. Milda took the piece.
14:04 Voldis flew out.

14:07 Big pooped.

[ame]

14:10 Milda lifted the piece of food to a new place. it didn't seem to have fur on it? was it wet?
someone in the chat wrote that it might be a beavers leg. that could be possible.

14:18 Milda lifted the food thing. it really seemed to have a big paw on the other end. she began to feed. she stood in front of the chicks.
14:25 voices of spanking ...
14:26 feeding over.

14:34 someone cheeped... then voices of spanking. all behind Milda.

14:37 Big got up, Small was curled in a ball.
then Small crawled to the left side of the nest.
14:39 Small tried to nibble fish which was there.
14:40 Milda took the fish away. Small crawl farther to the front.
14:41:40 Milda gave a morsel of fish to Small!
then she offered some to Big but she was too full to take any.
14:42:01 Milda gave another morsel to Small. Big got up and clucked angrily. Small crawled farther to the left edge. my heart sank.
14:43:38 Milda gave Small 3 morsels more. that was 5 together.
Big threatened Small. then Milda fed Big some more.

14:47 Big spanked Small badly... Small was dangerously close to the edge of the nest.
14:49 Small crawled to Milda.
14:50 what? this is almost a miracle. Milda began to feed Small. she stood between Big and Small.
21 morsels. this will not keep Small alive long. his crop looks big though. Small crawled to the centre of the nest and pulled the bone thing that Voldis brought. he wants more.


one of these days these birds give me a heart attack...
i was really afraid that the same would happen as with Terzo.

15:01:53 uaaarrrggghh! now it happened. Big shot full load on our eyes.


we shall be listening to "the radio" from now on.

16:42 voices of spanking...


i shall not try make clips unless i hear something really dramatic.

16:49 a lot of chirping... this sounded like a spanking, too.

17:36 (about) someone jumped to or from a branch. earlier at 17:25 a rustle or some other similar sound (probably to the opposite direction).
then clucking... this sounded like spanking.


feeding time for me

Been watching this nest for years now but have not posted lately. Especially hard to watch this year. Guess Voldis & Milda are not bringing enough food & soon Small will be gone; they are still young birds & need more practice at this. Still enjoy all the songbirds & the swans. Very much appreciate all your efforts, ame, to keep us all up-to-date on the nest.

18:32 Milda called a few times with an annoyed voice. then a crow called nearby.

19:13 Milda cried... fish song?
19:14:19 landing. Milda cried more... maybe Voldis brought food.
19:15 a feather shake? ( a piece was missing). then quiet.


a food delivery?

20:00 engine noise began at the racing track.
it stopped after 5 min.

20:56 Milda cried... then a sound of landing on the nest. then Milda cried softly a little more. then no well-defined voices or sounds. actually it sounded a bit worryingly calm and silent.

this is actually a rather liberating experience, not having the camera, only audio.
i may stop doing this altogether.
