Small Bird Feeder Webcam 2023-2024

Post by Bea »

Welcome to the 18th season of the Small Bird Feeder Webcam :hi:

Introduction on LK main page https://www.looduskalender.ee/n/node/8197

Google translator:
This year's pre-winter started already in the second half of November.

At the moment, a camera picture with a Christmas mood comes from Saaremaa, where even under the forest there are only patches of snow.

Our usual winter bird camera in Southeast Estonia got buried under half a meter of snow, which completely ruined our installation plans. There were power outages and at that time the known camera system could not be started. We'll try again in a few weeks.

So we have the joy of watching little birds on the island of Saaremaa this season, what a nice surprise!
I am curios which species we will see at the feeder there.

Maybe the dog on Fleur´s picture is the one we can hear bark from time to time?

Maybe this Great Tit wanted to make Santa a Selfie with her?

One day I saw very strange black tit here. It had white-black head, as black tit, but the forehead was blue as the blue tit, and the stomac was also yellow, not grey. Perhaps a cross between black tit and blue tit?
Once at my home bird feeder was also strange tit - like a cross between blue tit and great tit. Or lasure tit, which was quite rare, so I'd rather believe, it was a cross.
