some pictures from Soomaa ...the connection is cut....cars stay on the road sides and canoes are the only possible transport

But isn't it difficult to live a normal life surrounded by water - for humans and mammals ?? It looks bad! There was seen on the video a White Stork nest and a White Stork there on the nest! The storks of course do not feel so bad. Hm.. perhaps there are not much fish in the flood water..

That flood is there every year. People have conformed to that I think.

WOW.. not only is it flooding but that water is freezing cold too. We see the ice floating round those people in the canoe..

...and the water level is long past last year's highest (orange band, submerged now ) and steadily approaching the 1956 peak, green band on tree on right hand side.

I hope so. The snow is still melting. I last went there in Febr, I´m quite sure it´ll take some more time to melt it all.
