Thank you for the photos, Alice, Ame, Lussi, & Venegor. It seems the predicted bad storm did not hit the Käsmu or siga areas. But I see the snow melted quite a bit, so winter is not strong yet. Nor is it for us in my part of the world, either. We have had almost no snow at all, & not much rain, either. This is very unusual. Our temperatures have been in the upper 30s F (2 C & above) to the upper 60s F (as high as 19 or 20 C). I am beginning to wonder if winter will actually arrive. And if this is the "tipping point" rumored about climate change.

Men saved a drowning fisherman at Käsmu

On the first day of this year Robert Aasa who lives at Western Virumaa, Käsmu and is Käsmu voluntary marine-rescue member and Võsu commando rescuer together with another man from Käsmu saved a costal fisherman from drowning whos boat capsized.
Emergency services got a call at 10:25 and Võsu rescuecommando was dispatched with a boat to the scene.
When rescuers arrived to the scene found that Käsmu voluntary marine-rescue member and Võsu commando rescuer Robert Aasa with another man from Käsmu were already at the scene and had already rescued the fisherman.
"I go swimming in the mornings and heard fishermans boat motor. But one point the motor sound stopped and I saw about 200 meters off the shore a man in the water and his boat drifting away from him."told Aasa. Winterswimmer [dont know if its the right expression] Aasa ran from Käsmu pier along the beach towards the drowning man and even tought about swiming to the man at one point [but I guess they got lucky and the man washed up to the shosre before things got that far]

Thank you, UNP, for the link & early translation of the article about the poor fisherman. And thanks to Ian for the follow up translation. How lucky for the fisherman to make it out OK. I wonder if he is the one we watch so often in the mornings setting out his net, & perhaps that is why we did not see him for a day or two?

It seems to be a light fog at the sea shore this morning. The swan family with 3 cygnets is swimming there by the big rocks near the little building.
