the camera is sleeping...
Europe has changed to the normal time, the so-called winter time again. don't forget to change your board preferences accordingly.

October 28th
the camera is off... yesterday evening i noticed that only the Alutaguse and the Käsmu cameras were left on the list on the front page:
http://www.looduskalender.ee/en/
i wonder does this mean that the rescue trip to the seal island will not happen?
i wish that someone would be able to give us news about this...
the storm is on its way and it shoul pass over Estonia during the next night (at least the Finnish weather forecast told so this morning, not on Wednesday as the Vilsandi forecast still says).
here's an animated prediction. press play under the list of dates× to run the animation and click on any time to stop animation at it:
http://en.ilmatieteenlaitos.fi/marine-w ... baltic-sea
it seems that the centre of the low pressure will be travelling so that the fastest winds will blow right above Vilsandi (the red circle in the map).

the storm turned out to be much weaker in Finland than was feared. in Turku we got a lot of rain last night and it was windy, that's all. further East from here (to Olga's home) it was a bit worse: power cut-offs and fallen trees but no larger damage. it seems that this storm will not even be named in Finland.

Juta found this wind-speed record at ILM. It seems that the storm was at its strongest on Vilsandi, so where is the camera, now?

camera is exactly like it was before.
We had one day of almost total power outage in the area. Connection there was down as well because that. Today, after power returned, camera did wake up and worked from 11:04 to 17:32. I did look of the recorded images and it is like it was - tilting down. No information about solar panels, but because directional radio antenna is attached to the panels frame still works, they must be upright as well. This is amazing, because many roughly same size road signs nearby was pushed down to the ground. If panels had been tip over, then they probably would be blown to the see with all the cables and other equipment.
our "blue pill" is in the same place as well ...

Hello to all patient forumists here!
Weather has turned rapidly unpleasant, so now you can't deny that it's become autumn (speaking for Germany)...
I'm just spending some motivating time with looking through Käsmu views via Goole maps/Panoramio (thanks to Sven in Switzerland for using the Testing functions thread - wonderful pic of the bay).
Now here's a nice pic that shows Vilsandi should be ready for emergency cases in the near surrounding.

Just a question because I'm curious, is there a chance that the webcam comes back?
