On April 14th, there was the steam or smoke coming from the hayball.
I remember that in our country (Netherlands) some farmers also had to be very careful if the hay had been brought into the haystacks
and into the barns although the hay was still a bit wet, humide, because then it can get hot and begins to brew and should there get some extra air
into the stack it can easily begin to burn..
in that way esp. in the past, some farms are burned down!
In our modern times the farmers have more ways to
dry the hay and almost every farmer knows the danger now.
Should some air get into the hayball while a deer is eating this hay could have started to burn and the animal could have got wounded.. so some one has opened the ball to prevent that.
The man that brings the food to the Alutaguse bearcam also mostly covers the cam when he is working there, so the man here did the same. Some people don't like their pictures taken...no problem.
