Owlie
thank you a lot, I know that.
But anywhere they are, I think loving and beloved mummy-guardian angel may come in handy, and also for poor orphaned Ossi to protect him from goshawks, ravens etc.
Poor, poor so suddenly alone Ossi is flying and calling, looking for his babies, whom yet yesterday he brought supper ... heartbreaking :( And does he understand that Alma died ... ?
Owlie, do you remember how long they are a pair ? I peek in this nest the 4th year and it always was them.
I would never, ever have thought that a smaller raven could be deadly to adult ospreys and already quite large young ones. Until now I know them as eggs thieves. And my first question is why, what for the raven attacked bigger than he is birds, if he was even not able to take them from the nest and eat ?
I asked today Mod on YT chat and on Luotio forum where they were taken, but they don't have any info yet.
I'd like to know also how is doing this injured juvenile, and also no info.
Owlie, I am very very sorry for the Ilomantsi baby

How terrible season it is, in so many nests tragedies or misfortunes :(
I hope and wish may the two others grow up for strong and healthy juveniles
The same I wish babies in Paltamo !
'Your' birdies, because if I good remember you live just somewhere near this nest, as you wrote in early spring, when the winter suddenly came back there with snow for few days.
And btw., birdy mums sheltering chicks are often funny called mumbrella, and dads, fathers - fatent ;)
