Do you - all friends of Tawny Owls - see the report on the front page? What a nice picture and the story came to a good end. I ask if we will accompany Klaara and Klaus this year again? Let us hope for the best.
Yours - Bleggi :hi:

Me too - I get my "dosis" at the natuurkanaal forum which I posted about here on March 14. There are some very dedicated people posting clips - no doubt as addicted as we were (still are)!

Pity they have no active webcam inside the nestbox - but the outside images (something we missed with Klaus and Klaara) are great to watch! Not to mention the sounds!

See how she swiftly moves back through the entrance hole onto her eggs -->

Fantastic scenes (from Netherlands?), thank you.
I didn't know they can hoot when keeping mouse in their beak:

I'm curious who got this mouse which wasn't eaten at once.

And this is also a lovely scene when Tawny Male brings a mouse to Tawny Female sitting on eggs, as I suppose. He gets a big sweet 'thank you' from her. They have a fantastic talk.

Thank you very much for the updates, Bosuil! They are so cute.
I remember, in 2009 Tiny have already left the nest on 9 of May.

For this breeding owl I found a place to tell about this and that and putting pictures to and fro. Wonderful!

Something happened to tawnies all around the Europe. I was always able to hear them at my suburbs in Brussel. Not any more in 2011 nor 2012. That's very sad. This year I was hearing only foxes. Maybe they ate eggs and small birds

Foxes can't climb on the trees to eat owl's eggs, if only pine martens. Perhaps there were "bad" years with the lack of mice and owls may have migrated somewhere else.

May be your right, Asteria. My friend is outside today and has been the last evenings together with his friends: they heard and say tawny owls male and female and long-eared owls as well.
