Goitzsche Wildnis

Here, too, the nest is held on.
Both young animals died in the nest - despite their initially very good development.
Unfortunately, the reason for this has not yet been published on the homepage. Both young animals were beautifully developed.

New sticks are brought in, and nest material is replenished.

However, I have not yet seen a shipment of fish for the female.

Ten mins later the hero PiękNY and his sister PiękNA landed on the nest, dad Napiwek brougt the other fish and breakfest was continued
PiękNY means beautiful about males and PiękNA about femals. The block letters that we use they have on their rings - PNY & PNA

Goitzsche Wildnis

October 1st

Addendum to the death of both young animals:

Nothing is yet documented on the official homepage. But there was a report in a local newspaper.

https://www.mz.de/lokal/bitterfeld/fisc ... bt-3205411
GT
One egg turned out to be deaf, the chicks that hatched from the other eggs did not survive the spring: "After three weeks we saw the first boy lying dead in the nest, and two weeks later the second," says Carol Höger from the BUND Foundation in Holzweißig. “That is sad and also annoying.” Because the osprey is a rare species inland. And on the Goitzsche, the nest has been the target of a pair of ospreys for over ten years.

GT
At the moment, no one can say with any certainty why this year's animals' start in life ended so early. As ornithologist Frank Koch from NABU explains, the second young bird has been recovered. He should be examined by a veterinarian. Perhaps, he says, it has something to do with the damp spring. “The young animals are still developing, they are taken under the wing of their parents. The rain and the cool nights can have caused the birds to be soaked and hypothermic, so that the parents could no longer keep their young warm. ”The ornithologist says“ stuck ”about this phenomenon. The young birds would have had to be looked after in the nest for another month before they would have been strong enough and fledged, explains Koch.

Well, it doesn't leave me alone. Those chicks were so gorgeous ... I still don't get it.
It's hard to get these images out of my head. I saw the last few hours.

With young animals so advanced and strong, I would not have expected death from cool and damp.

I keep looking to see if there will be definitive statements at some point.

February 21st

GoitzscheWildnis

Well, there are nest builders and nest robbers...if you watch here, the nest is constantly changing shape throughout the day. Playground while the owners are still out of the country. :whistling:
