Goitzsche Wildnis - March 30th

Nest building on two floors is in full swing.
While the osprey pair still has a lot of work to do, the crows below seem pretty much done.

The male brings a huge branch. Dry light growth. The female pulls it into the nest while the male disposes of a chunky branch overboard.

The male attempts to mount the female but is expelled.
It leaves the nest and at the same time a crow heads for the osprey's nest - and this is the end. The female shows with a clear gesture that this nest is taboo for crows.

Goitzsche Wildnis - April 1st

Hello everbody! :hi:

Didn't the nest turn out great?
The couple worked hard and turned the shell (viewtopic.php?p=891579#p891579)
into a four-poster bed.

The first egg won't last long.

Many thanks for sharing, your kindness and thinking about osprey lovers. I found this article long time ago like many others on Dyfi site and on others, but it may be very helpful, interesting and valuable for persons who just starting their adventure with ospreys. Also the moment is very adequate - beginning of the season, time of pairing, mating and first eggs

Hello Ferenz :hi:
Congrats for your beloved nest, may they have succesful season :2thumbsup:

Goitzsche Wildnis - April 17th

Hello everyone! :hi:

The nest is now filling up with eggs.
There is talk of 3 eggs, I only see two. (Egg#2 laid April 15). Will update when Egg #3 is officially confirmed.

The female is sometimes very dominant.
Arrive with nesting material. The male gets the unmistakable signal that he has to clear the space on the eggs.
