What an odd sound near the nest! I see it is the same odd sound everyone has been discussing.

And now who is who? Since the second one was eating the prey left in the nest, it could be the female, but I had the impression the first one is a bit bigger. In honey buzzard the sexual dimorphism is not as big as in other birds of prey, male reaches 94% of the female's size. But once we know, it should be easy to differ between them. And I love the intense eyes!

Yes, I think it's the eyes that makes these birds very special:)Felis silvestris wrote:And I love the intense eyes!
Edit: When I listen to the cam on my iPad, the sound is not strange. It's a pity it's more difficult to follow all the cams on it, and upload pictures:(

In norwegian they are called "vepsevåk" / veps = wasp hawk, I guess Honey Buzzard also is because of their special food. I hope they settle down here, it's so exciting!!

German name is the same, "Wespenbussard". Now the "first" one came back and showed the front side.

I think mating was going on on the upper left corner. The little buzzards just made a lot of racket too. But I could see movement to some calls there.

This would be my guess too, but "it" was eating the prey left on the nest yesterday ... We will see soon, I suppose.
