Re: White-tailed Eagles Cam 2009 Discussion
is Pontu offline again?? i tried for example
http://pontu.eenet.ee/kotkas/2009-10-21 ... -08-49.jpg
but it only says that "404 - not found" for every today's time-stamp i tried... it would be such a lovely new scenery. i hope they install the live camera there, too, as soon as possible. the seal beach is ok, but i'm such a landlubber-forest-person that i prefer a forest scene .

i believe that we can see first the Eagles winter feeding cam!
last year they went online on Nov.16th, so we have to be patient for some weeks
it is hard to settle to just 1(!) cam, as much as i love the seals and sea - the more the merrier

WtE camera we removed from tree, because power system needs some maintenance and this is better to keep that time camera in dry place.
Also we rised antennas position in forest, what should make better the receiving of signal. The distance between antenna and camera is very critical (too long) and we are going to order from US a special extender for such cases.
Hopefully all that will get us better view in next season. We plan to begin with next season already this year... though light conditions in wintertime are under question.
We should make a practical experiment to understand all aspects.
Maybe you know that site, but:

I'm afraid that we did not have the transmitters for Sulli and Kluti...

Surprise!!!
I got from Renno today two beautiful pictures. Those pics are done at Skrunda fish ponds in Latvia. Photographer Janis Kuze catched one of our eaglets on picture!
It is very difficult to say who there is... I think that this beautiful eaglet is our Kluti!
Great thanks to Janis Kuze!

Thankyou Renno and Janis.
So that is where they went - Where next?
It's wonderful to have news of one, probably Kluti. Mutikluti must know those birds better than anyone.

Do the eagles fly over the water, or mostly over land?
My roommate from years ago studied Bald Eagles on the the Chesapeake Bay and I think they found that during the winter many eagles moved a little bit south along the shores of the bay. It will be interesting if WTE also shift south a little during the winter. But I suppose as a youngster Kluti can be expected to move away from his home territory a little bit.
The photos are so beautiful -- they make me cry.
