good morning!
the camera is still sleeping...
maybe it is inside a pile of snow, like a bear in a burrow.

Yesterday we went together with Renno into camera place (can't say nest site, because no nest there was). We did some 300m search around old nest site, but did not find anything. One third calendar year immature WtE we observed about 1km of the camera place, no more eagles during whole day. It was almost silence and sunny, but quite cold - if we arrived, there was -20 and if went away near darkness -16 degrees. But we removed camera sensor with lens to check it in room. There is needed to understand why the water inside the lens closure appeared. In Monday Omar promised to look at this. Also we built a base for new nest in old place. So we will see, if this is good enough for Uku and Anna. If not then maybe several other individuals will appear in camera view.
If the sensor and lens are prepared (old one repaired or new got) we will install it back to tree. With smaller modifications of whole system.

Dear Urmas
Thanks a lot for reporting what has been found in the area. It would be nice to see Anna and Uku again, or even one of the youngsters. :)
Urmas and Renno, I wish both of you a happy and successful new year, you're doing great work.

Urmas and Renno, many thanks for this great work in the forest
I hope very much, that Anna and Uku accept this new nest platform on the old place. It would be nice to see both again .
Working in this cold is certainly exhausting. You had to climb onto the tree! Only really Heroes are able to do it.

thank you for the news Urmas!
great work in such cold and demanding circumstances.
let's hope that the camera can be fixed waterproof.
the nest platform will hopefully bring eagles in front of the camera even if Anna and Uku have gone somewhere else. at the Latvian nest there were a lot of visitors last summer so the season was there actually very busy although there was no nesting. we were able to identify many ringed eagles there, too. that was interesting.

Thank you Urmas!
We will wait with great interest for the next chapter of Anna & Uku:s first tree.
