Season’s Greetings!
We would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and thank you once again for your fantastic support this year, it is truly appreciated.
We hope that you have enjoyed seeing the highlights of the Glaslyn Osprey season in our Advent Calendar over the past few weeks. We wonder where Mrs G and Aran are spending Christmas?
Thank you Gail Edgley for the great image.

New Year Message from all at BGGW
As our ospreys winter in warmer climes (our picture, taken by Joanna Dailey, shows 2020 chick KC4 in Senegal in November) we are now looking forward to, and planning the new season at Glaslyn Ospreys.
Here is a message from Gill Pritchard who was elected as new Chair of the BGGW Board of Trustees at the recent Annual General Meeting.

Some Fantastic News!
Back in November Joanna Dailey shared images with us of KC4 (2020) at Kalissaye Reserve, Senegal. Joanna has been back in West Africa over Christmas with Vic Paine and Pip Rowe, who photographed KC4 in 2021. Today the team photographed KC4 once again, but she wasn't the only Glaslyn hatched osprey they saw at Kalissaye. They also saw one of the 2022 youngsters - none other than our calendar cover star 497.
We will share more news about the sighting in a blog later this week. Thank you Joanna, Vic and Pip for sharing the information with us so promptly.

The Glaslyn Nest has had its annual spring clean and is now ready for our ospreys to return. Thank you to Darren Moore from Friends of the Ospreys for carrying out the refurbishment work once again.
How long will it be before Mrs G brings in a new pot plant?

thank you

Happy Mother’s Day!
Today not only marks Mother’s Day, but also the earliest date that Mrs G has ever arrived back at the Glaslyn Nest. It was back in 2015 that she returned on March 19.
Mrs G has an incredible track record as a mother. She has watched 52 of her 60 eggs hatch and 44 of her offspring successfully fledge the nest. At least seven of her offspring are known to have gone on to breed, between them raising 130 chicks to the fledging stage. Mrs G is also great grandmother to at least thirteen. You can read more about Mrs G in the Profiles section of our website.

The pair from the Friends of the Ospreys Pont Croesor nest had a Sunday afternoon outing to the Glaslyn nest yesterday. It was good to see a pair of ospreys on the live stream for a few moments, even if it was not the two birds we were hoping would land.
