Yes :headroll: , Ferenz, but Mrs.G meanwhile has a fresh love with Aeron on an nearby nest. I'm really tense how Mrs.G will decide.

Returned Glaslyn Offspring update.
Glaslyn hatched Blue 9C (2014) was photographed at RSPB Leighton Moss on April 7th. Thanks to photographer Geoffrey Pain for allowing us to share the image of 9C taken from the Causeway Hide.
9C’s youngest sister from the same brood, Blue 8C was spotted on the Poole Harbour webcam on March 29th. We do not know whether she has a breeding nest, but it is known that 8C winters in Senegal.
White YA (2007) returned to Nest 1A at Kielder on March 28th and he was soon reunited with his unringed female.
Yellow 37 (2005) was a little later than usual this year and was first recorded back at Kielder Nest 2 on April 4th. 37 is the longest breeding osprey in Kielder Forest.
Black 80 (2006) returned to his nest at Threave Castle, Dumfries & Galloway on March 22nd. His partner Blue KC joined him a couple of days later.
Finally, thank you to Valerie Webber for passing on the news that White YC (2008) has returned to his nest at Roudsea Wood, Cumbria.
Fingers crossed that there will be more news of Glaslyn hatched ospreys over the coming weeks.

We have received several messages recently enquiring as to why we are showing a distant view of a nest with ospreys on it, rather than the close-up images of Mrs G and the Glaslyn nest that everyone is more familiar with. Here is the explanation, and, also the answer to some of your frequently asked questions.

A fourth osprey arrived in the Glaslyn Valley this morning. We believe it is a female and suspect that it is Blue 014 as she seems quite determined to remove Mrs G from the Pont Croesor nest. The two females have been in dispute for most of the afternoon and at one point Mrs G landed on the Glaslyn nest alongside Aran, who was quick to defend the nest from the intruding female. Both of the male ospreys seem to be leaving the females to sort things out between themselves.
What will happen next? We will keep you posted.

Mrs G laid her second egg of the year at 18.03 this evening. Hopefully by Monday evening there will be a full clutch of three eggs in the nest.

KA5 / "Roli" is back!
KA5 hatched from the Llyn Brenig nest in 2019. He was seen in the Glaslyn Valley on several occasions last year and yesterday he was an unwelcome visitor at both the Pont Croesor and Glaslyn nests.

Great news from the Friends of the Ospreys Pont Croesor nest.
Z2/"Aeron" and Blue 014 are back for their second breeding season together on the Pont Croesor nest. We are delighted to announce that Blue 014 laid her first egg around 19.50 on Friday 29th April.
The new hide at the Glaslyn Osprey Visitor Centre provides an excellent vantage point of the nest.

There has been a lot of intruder osprey activity in the Glaslyn Valley over the past few days. One of them touched down on the nest perch today.
KA7 is a male hatched at the Llyn Clywedog nest in 2019, we also saw him at Glaslyn last year.

Due to the distance of the camera from the Pont Croesor nest and the fact we can only see the heads of the incubating ospreys, it is difficult to be certain whether a second egg has been laid. Blue 014 seemed restless on Monday evening though and Z2/Aeron stayed close by, so we assume there are now two eggs in the nest. The pair are still mating, so it is likely there will be three eggs.
Just before midnight on Monday evening the Pont Croesor pair had an unexpected visit by a Tawny Owl.

Good news!
Glaslyn Ospreys welcomes the exciting news that another pair of ospreys is breeding on private land in an undisclosed location in the Glaslyn Valley. The female, who laid her first egg on Monday, is a translocated Poole Harbour osprey from 2019 and the male is KS6 (Dinas) fledged at the Dyfi nest in 2018. This is great news – congratulations to everyone at Poole Harbour and Dyfi!
We are delighted that another Friends of the Ospreys platform has attracted yet another pair of birds to the Glaslyn Valley.

We have very exciting news to share: 019, a female translocated in 2019, is on a nest in Wales and she laid her first egg yesterday! She has paired up with a male, KS6 (Dinas) who fledged from the Dyfi nest in 2018. The nest is in the Glaslyn valley, not far from the site at Pont Croesor, where 014 and Z2 (Aeron) are nesting again and have also been incubating since last week.
This means that we have three translocated Ospreys back in the UK, all now on nests and incubating. This is a huge milestone for the project, and we have put together an overview in our latest update: https://www.birdsofpooleharbour.co.uk/o ... -breeding/
Big thanks to Friends of The Ospreys (Welsh Osprey) for the photos and for keeping us updated.
