Hello mogga, thought you were hibernating.
And you are right: the birdmap takes some time to get used to. It is worth it.

Thanks, Solo!
The migration can be well seen on the charts.
It's again and again surprising what distance they cover...
No hibernation, Rita
I am watching my garden birds and some other webcams...

Every now and then the battery has enough energy to stream for some short hours ....
16. November
12:50
A female Great spotted Woodpecker (Picoides major/Dendrocopos major) can be heard calling close until she lands on the nest. After a short inspection she flew over to the dead tree
Correction - Gavril mentions the call is from a Black Woodpecker/Dryocopus martius (must be close too, but stays out of view)
viewtopic.php?p=556144#p556144
A little later ...
13:07
This time a Great spotted Woodpecker couple visits the nest, the male is the one with the red spot in the neck, the female is without.

Nice videos, Bea!
Every time I want to look at the Irma-nest and try to record for a while the cam is not running.
You are more successful... :)
(I uploaded a video of my gardenbirds at 'Birds Birds Birds'. If someone likes to watch that, go there: viewtopic.php?p=555526#p555526)

The days when the cam is streaming are really rare and then only for short time until it is off again .... I made just a lucky catch with the woodpeckers

You are really lucky, dear Bea. Every day I take a look if the camera still works but it only says "Stream not found". Urmas informed us that they removed the cam, who is showing Mati's nest, during winter time. I'm always happy to view Videos or picture that you show us.

Yesterday cam was online again for a while, but I found no birds on the nest on my recording - so I can only make a weather report
21. November
Opened the cam at 09:37 and saw this ....
09:46
View has improved and it seems it was a cold night and morning up on the nest

Snowfall, big flakes, looked like very wet ones
13:23
No more snowfall short before the cam went offline again.
Can´t say whether the cam was online today again, had no time to check.

Good day! Thank you, Bea for video Dendrocopos major! However, in the first video I hear the voice of the black woodpecker (Dryocopus martius). I am glad that the nesting site Irma lives of at least 2 species of woodpecker!Bea wrote:Every now and then the battery has enough energy to stream for some short hours ....

Yepp Gavril, I added a note for correction in my post!
Maybe the Black Woodpecker was not amused to have the Great spotted Woodpecker so close and protested against it

Thank you, Bea.
It's wonderful that the cam "works for you" so that we can also get a glimpse on the nest full of surprises and recalling sweet memories. It helps to make it through the winter.

As the dark time does not allow charging of batteries, I removed this Osprey cam 2 from the woods. It was already too bad for battery life span to work at low voltage for long time.
But we probably can meet in spring for next season!
Best wishes!

Thank you for letting us know, Urmas.
I checked regularly during the last days, but no connection possible.
So let´s look forward to the next season - there is only to get over December, January, February .... and then March is already ahead

Good winter morning to all!
Thank you Urmas for your work!
We really hope to see our forest and our nest in the beginning of spring, waiting for the arrival of its inhabitants.
Yesterday we had the first snow, the winter beautifully begins, and until March there are only 3 months!
In the meantime, I watched the videos that had been lying since the summer and made a small compilation of the first April week in our nest.
There is Irma and her beautiful voice
And Ivo is a toiler
And Lady718
Look. They all are beautiful.

Sappheira, thank you very much! It was nice to remember those days...

Thank you Sappheira for the beautiful moments in picture and video.
It is always amazing how they transport these large branches and shrubs to the nest. Also Lady 718 is a hard worker and checks if everything is properly placed in the nest. Sometimes the branches are so hard to handle that they eventually fall out of the nest - laugh. A disappointed look after laborious work.
Can't wait until everyone returns and if Irma and Ivo regain their nest.
I hope you all had a contemplative 1. Advent.
