Uau, mom and chick looking to each other!
Yesterday we were impressed by Suvi "closing the kitchen", I mean covering the fish with grass at the end of the day. I think it was around 8:30-9 pm in Estonia. The chick was asking for food from time to time, but once it observed her action it stopped asking for more and moved to one side of the nest, where they finally stayed together. I would say the chick understood that food time was over (my interpretation). It's very nice to see how they take decisions and communicate in the wild, in their normal life. I guess since these cameras are available, animal behavior studies have changed a lot.

Regarding the weather, there is one positive aspect about rain: no more annoying flies!! :2thumbsup:

Dear all, we are new in this forum and we are following the chick growing and all your nice comments from which we learn a lot! My impression during the "dinner" commented above was that Sulev was fed by Suvi. Now, around 8 pm and some minutes later (the cam is not showing the exact time to us, just "video source bad signal"), I have the impression that the chick is asking for food to Sulev, he touches peak's father, but Dad ignores it, Sulev seems not to understand. Is Sulev behaving as a brother of the small one, is he behaving as another chick? Fed by Suvi, not paying attention to the chick needs... (I know Sulev is a fantastic fisher and hunter, just asking!).
I agree with @Sova, Sulev is good dad and experienced one. He's perfectly able to care for eaglet
Being fed could be kind of social act, Suvi acted as a fledgling from time to time.

Suvi has black eyes but Sulev has a yellow iris. Curious little variability that helps me in distinguishing them!

Thanks for the comment!. I think I confused male and female, I though it was the father who stayed afterwards without "paying attention" to the food requests of the chick but actually it was Suvi. So interesting! And the whole thing lovely!

Hello everyone :hi:

The rain started at about 08:30 and has been mostly very light. The satellite measurement shows that the temperature has been only about 13°C after the rain started. The rain should stop by about 12-13 o’clock. Anyhow, it was very good for everything in the nature after a long dry period. Well, not in everyone’s opinion ... Suvi is not satisfied at the moment  , but she will get dry after some time.

As Laranjeras told, the cam was totally off-line for some time, beginning roughly at 9 o’clock. I was already afraid that water had got into some of the cables. Luckily not. As you remember, Urmas told us earlier, that some unknown animal had tested near the ground level, what the cam cable tastes like.

The little one has learned to eat very well. This time it could take and swallow really large pieces of fish, even quite a long ”spaghetti”. :D

Yes it tried, but that is still something too difficult for it.
