16:06 Milda finished with the pike and took the carp. Rika holds the rest of the pike in her claws and is eating it and eats carp given by Milda, both in turns.
Mika
Mika is standing with a full crop on the left side.
Rika

Mika

Did a poo Rika at 16:14 and right there I did a poo Mika.

At 18:18 voice Raimis.

good morning!
thank you for the reports!

Milda arrived on the top brnach. sh came to see how the eaglets are managing with the fawn.
she jumped down to the nest. Rika screamed and mantled the food.
Image

she cooled down a little and let Milda help her... almost.

9:05 Milda jumped to the right branch. she apparently came to the conclusion that Rika must cool down more. she is dangerous when she is like this.

Milda slipped and the eaglets looked in the sky. someone flew over?

9:12:20 a butterfly landed on Rika's wing.
a black and red butterfly. a red admiral? - i think so.
Image

after the butterfly flew away Raimis flew by. they all were looking at him.
Image

actually there were two butterflies a little earlier than one flew above the nest.

thanks Liz!
i know you are much more clever than i in these matters. after breakfast. :whistling:
i'll move these posts to the Tech Questions department. my question is here:
viewtopic.php?p=666427#p666427

peace at home. Milda is cleaning hair off the deer leg. - could yesterday's prey be another fawn? it didn't look brown like this one, with bambi spots.

it's funny how much more there seems to be mammal food this summer compared to last year. or does my memory fail? :puzzled:

11:00 the eaglets had a fight. i could not see what triggered it.
äsch, it was our polite and considerate Rika again. she was standing on the fake branch and wanted to come down to the nest, Mika was standing on her way. Rika decided to walk over Mika instead of going around her. then a fight ensued. :slap:
a video of this is here:
viewtopic.php?p=666556#p666556

the Admiral was fluttering around the nest all the time. what a nice visitor!
Image

the red admiral (Vanessa atalanta) in W-pedia.

They are too young to be interested in the construction and in the basement  Mike likes the edges of the rim, I saw him digging under cam where it's also deeper... :slap:

We cannot talk to the kids about the dangers, we can only wish and hope for a better fledging this season
